Through the Shropshire Junior Football League (SJFL) Competitions the league is able to support / donate to many worthy charities. Each charity has its own valuable purpose and, in the main, are helped in their cause by teams of incredible dedicated volunteers. They work tirelessly in helping and supporting many people at times of their lives when they are in need of care and kindness often in the most difficult of circumstances.
This season SJFL will be supporting the Marie Curie and C R Y (Cardiac Risk in the Young) charities at its Charity Cup Finals in April and May hosted by Shrewsbury Sports Village. Ahead of the April finals, and to help promote Marie Curie’s 40 years Spring 2026 Great Daffodil Appeal, the charity was invited to an England Football ‘Future Fit’ event being trialled by SJFL. The event gave the charity an opportunity to meet people and raise awareness of Marie Curie’s work providing a better end of life care for more people, whatever the illness and to their funding palliative care research. The league has already pledged £750 to the charity and will be looking to achieve a donation of over £1000 after the April charity finals.
