SUW 60 photo call shows off the new branded GWT Respect Trophy that will be awarded to the SJFL’s overall ‘Respect’ team winner from the 170 registered teams in the league. The winner will also receive an outdoor experience (age appropriate) provided by the GWT. Charities spring up for many reasons all over the world. Sometimes they have a specific cause, sometimes they are to help those who suffer from an illness, sometimes they are aimed at restoring a building or supporting a club. We believe The Georgia Williams Trust is just a little different. We are a charity dedicated to providing a lasting long term legacy to an exceptional young lady. With the money raised, we will celebrate Georgia’s life by enabling young people in her community to access adventure, outdoor activities and volunteering.

The Georgia Williams Trust is excited to be Respect Partners with the Shropshire Junior Football League. Our Trust was set up through tragically losing Georgia, but we were overwhelmed by people wanting to donate and do something positive with the money raised in Georgia’s spirit. She never excluded anyone from her circle of friends, and strived to include and help everyone. It is most apt that we link up with SJFL – as we also promote respect in our Trust – this is between others in every way – not just in sports, but in everyday life. The Trust aims to help children from the ages of 11-18 reach their goals in life and looks at ways we can get as many children involved as possible, and perhaps achieve something they didn’t think possible”. This is a exciting venture for both the Trust and League and we are pleased SJFL is re-branding the league’s ‘Respect Awards’ to ‘The Georgia Williams Respect Awards’.

SUW62 photo call shows ick It Out Campaign Day at the Shrewsbury Sports Village, in partnership with the Shropshire Junior Football League and Georgia Williams Trust as a fantastic opportunity to promote and raise awareness of the Kick It Out campaign. It was a fantastic success with over 100 children, managers, coaches and supporters having a short presentation about the Kick It Out (Lets kick racism out of football) before their Futsal matches, from the Shropshire FA Youth Council. Players also received badges, arm bands, wrist bands and other promotion material as a reminder of the day and the importance of Kick It Out.
