Future Fit is tailoring youth football to fit even better, and mean more to all young players in England. 3v3 will be the entry format for players at U7s (for season 2026/27) so they get more involved in the play and have the best introduction to football.

3v3 is being trialled across England by 20 flagship leagues selected by The FA as ‘Early Adopters’ to this format. Shropshire Junior Football League is one of those 20 leagues already on board and working closely with England Football to capture best practice ahead of 3v3 being shared with the grassroots community.

This season the league has already organised two Future Fit 3v3 events, held at Shrewsbury Sports Village, with six member clubs actively taking part. Two senior league officers have also attended CPD sessions at St. Georges Park and further 3v3 events are scheduled for March and May this season.
